A Bethany Officer, Badge 229,
Was Called to a chase today.
He didn't know what the future held,
As he hurried along his way.

Always ready and willing, he arrived at the scene,
With no thought of what lay ahead.
When suddenly he was hit by injury,
"It's Tim McCarthey", everyone said.

As his fellow officers rushed to his side,
There was total dismay in the air.
A "Brother in Blue" was in trouble,
They knew that needed their care.

It just doesn't seem fair that a thing
Like this can happen to such a great man,
But we know that the Lord is watching over Tim,
God's holding him in the palm of his hand.

If it is his spirit that we must hold up,
Or a word that we must say,
Or a smile that we must give to him,
We never go away.

For we all stand united,
Which gives us the strength to win,
Nothing can take down our Bethany Officers,
Tim proved it once again!
